SUMMARY:History Fair
DESCRIPTION:History Fair\n\n\nMay 16\, 2025 @ 10:00 am – 11:30 am\n\nJoin us for BHC’s official HISTORY FAIR!  This year’s theme is Rights and Responsibilities in History.  LOCATION: Hoover Library\, Fitzgerald and Shakespeare Rooms. \n\nThis year’s topic is Rights and Responsibilities in History. This corresponds to the national history fair theme for 2025. The theme is deliberately broad\, and your student may choose ANY subtopic provided it considers the questions of time and place\, cause and effect\, change over time\, and impact and significance.\nMake sure the project is age-appropriate.  The student should understand what they are doing and be able to discuss it with you.  The student should pick a project that they are interested in and do the work themselves as much as possible.\nProjects may include trifold presentation boards\, live dramatic performance\, oral presentation (may include accompanying digital slides)\, or documentary.\nPinterest and Google searches will show many great ideas for how to do presentation boards for history fairs – please search those if you are needing ideas.\nMultiple students may work together on a single project.\nStudents can enter more than one project if they like.  Please include all pertinent information on the registration form (one for each project).\nAll presentations must be in English and the student should be prepared to answer age-specific questions about their project during the open time where other students and parents can come see their project.\nTri-fold\, stand alone cardboard display boards can be found at Wal-Mart and other local stores for around $3. Hobby Lobby usually has a good selection of a variety of colors.\nProjects should not need to be plugged in or require other resources\, and they must not make a mess.\nDigital presentations\, live performances\, and documentaries should be no longer than 5 minutes each.\nPlease register by May 14 so we can have a final number to prepare for appropriate space and time for everyone’s projects.\nOn fair day\, please be there at 9:45 to get set up.
